things are getting grim. the good guys and the bad are determined to settle their escalating dispute in the ring. after the bookies have taken their bets, the bad guys are taking the upper hand in the first few rounds. the nefarious comment about their beloved mother seems to have sparked uncontrollable rage in the pair. dont rule out the good guys just yet though, as they seem to be plotting something their opponents from the dark side wont see coming. for the second outing in the quartet series, french fry and parisian concrete resident s3a (sampling as a n art, faces) infuses the good guys with some positive energy.

with the release of their last album “smoke” (2013) dapayk & padberg moved to a listening oriented direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. the new single “sink this ship” underlines their decision to follow this path in the future … maybe even with their upcoming album “harbour” later this year. on “sink this ship” eva padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. however, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. two of the most sought-after remixer artists at the moment, robot koch and bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor. robot koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. primarily he builds his version on the emotional base of eva’s vocal part and dapayk’s warm bass line. however, on the flip side, there is almost a contrasting change. the slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical bebetta techhouse beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.

limited edition lp reissue of this self titled japanese cd album. this lp is the first re-issue of their original cd-r only release in japan in 1999 in a very limited edition (100 copies). it has been remastered in berlin from orginal recordings and pressed to 300 copies with a gigantic sound !!! according to david keenan (wire magazine) about this first cd-r released in 1999 the band are one of the most important underground reference in the actual japan psychedelic scene.

a side track ‘’1840&#8242,’ (feat. contrapunct) is the result of taking a violin built by jean-baptiste vuillaume in the year 1840, played by our in-house virtuoso now known as contrapunct and making a sample kit / sound kit with it yes, this means all the sounds you hear on this song are sourced from an old and beautiful violin. using original recordings combined with different manipulation techniques, the trio deliver to the plate over 12 minutes of intensity. one can explain it like this perhaps……….. you are high in the blue sky walking a high wire over an ocean of beautiful coral reef, still maintaining balance, but looking down at the view beneath and thinking- “if i got to go- there cannot be much better ways!
